Genuinely invested in my mental health
She is wonderdul! Kind, down to earth. During My first visit with her I was a mess. She helped me get in tune with the depression and the triggers. I have battled depression for decades. She gave me a lot of great advice and guidance to manage the episodes in a better way. We worked on a model of talk therapy/cognitive therapy. worked well for me because I felt like my issues were being "heard." She showed no bias in treating my problems. I believe she always gave me feedback I NEEDED to hear. Not just what I wanted to hear. She was flexible whenever possible in scheduling and Always professional in her presentation. I always looked forward to my visits with her and left each session feeling like a weight was lifted. Highly recommend!
I don't like therapy, the process is uncomfortable for me. I am not much of a talker and talking about inside stuff is very hard. I suffer from sever PTSD and from depression. Working with Cynthia was a healing experience. I learned that I could trust her with my secrets, sadness, fears and foibles and she would still be there loving me as a fellow human being. This kind of acceptance was transformative for me. I credit Cynthia with being a catalyst for personal growth and healing in my life. I did the work but she encouraged and gave me guidance thru it. She is a caring and knowledgeable practitioner of a craft that is a mixture of education, life experience, empathy and love. If you need help or want to change, see if she is right for you, she was for me.
My life line
This is to be a straight and to the point review. Simply put, Cynthia saved my life, my family, and my sanity. I will always hold Cynthia very close to my heart. Thank you, Cynthia, thank you.
I started seeing Cynthia as part of my treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) upon returning from Korea after a year. Things were bad at home for me as my wife and toddler daughter left because Everything in our marriage was so out of order. Cynthia is a game changer! She is honestly, one of the most honest and caring person I have met. I looked forward to my sessions because I knew she was helping me a great deal! After months of dedicated therapy, She was able to help me figure things out on so many levels. I was able to fix things within myself from my military experiences, my struggling marriage, and to really connect with my daughter. She helped guide me from aimless, to a man with a sense of purpose and a sense of worth! I can't imagine my life being where it is now if not for Cynthia Maguire, PsyD!
Cinthia Norris McGuire
Her dedication and guinuine loving care for soldiers and their traumas has tremendously helped my self and many others close to me. It is because of her therapy, that I am able to understand why my brain is the way it is now and I can control situations better. The tools I learned with her, I use in my everyday life. They are essential to my recovery and continuous Success. Thank you Cinthia. I love you!
Experienced, available, involved, respectful, easy to talk to and connect with.
Cynthia has been my provider for 4 years. She provided a better therapeutic environment for me then a clinic could. When ever I have needed to contact Cynthia she has always returned my call or Email quickly. Appointments are convenient and easy. Jeremy her therapy dog is just a wonderful part of the therapeutic environment created. She checks in on my behalf with my psychiatrist particularly if I am symptomatic or having medication issues that are not being heard by my own reports first. Therapy is individual to the person and she has gone above and beyond in my opinion. It is not an easy process I don't even think I would try things like exposure therapy with any one else. Or work on having a service dog so I can eventually venture out and about by myself more places alone then I do. It is the storm that gets calmed, and the spark that gets ignited when you find your person.
